HONG KONG—A significant nonprofit arts center barred the outspoken professional-democracy Hong Kong pop star Denise Ho from doing just times prior to a scheduled collection of live shows, as worries grow that a continuing crackdown led by Beijing could stifle inventive expression in the metropolis.
In letters shared by the singer on Wednesday, the Hong Kong Arts Centre said it was pulling her Sept. 6-twelve reservation at the location underneath a clause that enables cancellations “where public buy or public protection would be endangered.”
