Late past calendar year, ten Russian submarines slipped out of their bases on Russia’s Arctic coastline and established an underwater course westward toward the North Atlantic.
Deployments such as this, one of the greatest physical exercises given that the Cold War, are a demonstration of the toughness and ambition of the Russian Navy not only to protect its homeland but also to job electricity into the Atlantic, say NATO armed forces officers and analysts.
