A delegation of typically Democratic lawmakers arrived in Taiwan for a two-working day trip, marking the next Congressional visit in roughly two months at a time of increasing pressure amongst Beijing and Washington more than the democratically self-ruled island.
The 5-member delegation landed in Taipei Thursday night ahead of conferences Friday with senior Taiwanese officials on troubles which include U.S.-Taiwan relations and regional stability, according to statements from Taiwan’s Overseas Ministry and the American Institute in Taiwan, the de facto U.S. embassy on the island.
