No tea could cross ₹300/kg amount at last week’s auction. The Pink Dust quality of acquired leaf factory, Homedale Estate, auctioned by World wide Tea Brokers, topped the overall auctions when Tea Companies India Pvt Ltd acquired it for ₹294 a kg. The Pink Dust quality from a different acquired leaf factory, Crosshill Estate, auctioned by World wide Tea Brokers, fetched the next maximum rate of ₹240 a kg. Pinewood Estate received ₹236. Even orthodox teas from corporates fetched considerably less than this.

Quotations with the brokers indicated ₹74-77 a kg for simple Leaf grades and ₹145-182 for the greatest grades. For simple Dust grades, they ranged ₹75-76 and for the greatest grades, ₹148-186.
